VovinamHouston: Hi Lulian! How long have you been practicing Vovinam for?
Lulian Ho: Since I was 5 or 6 years old? So about 14 slash 15 years!
VH: That’s a really long time! What’s the most memorable moment in your past 14 slash 15 years?
Lulian Ho: There are so many! I honestly can’t decide one what would be my most memorable.
VH: Being active in Vovinam for so long, do you have any awesome battle scars?
Lulian Ho: I don’t have scars. I give them. Lol.
VH: Ooooh! Hahah *nervous chuckle* heheh.
VH: What is your favorite kata form?
Lulian Ho: Mmm~~ it would prolly be Lao Mai Quyen
VH: Why’s that?
Lulian Ho: I’m wondering how to explain it. I like the way it flows. And the fireballs (blocks) we do at the end are always fun to do. Makes you feel like you’re in Dragon Ball Z. Haha!
VH: Fireballs, huh. Haha!
Lulian Ho: Yes! The hand to waist block we do at the end of Lao Mai. Fireballs!
VH: Haha. Do you have a favorite technique in Vovinam? Something that you would whip out during a fight?
Lulian Ho: Leg techniques always look like they’d be SUPER COOL to bust out with in a fight. Haha. I wouldn’t say I have a favorite technique though. Everything is useful in it’s own way.
VH: Do you have any pets?
Lulian Ho: Nope.
VH: Would you want to get one?
Lulian Ho: Mmm~ sure! Why not?
VH: What pet would you want to get?
Lulian Ho: What animal is the most self-efficient? I don’t think I’d take care of a pet too well. I just want one that will play with me. Haha.
VH: Favorite television show?
Lulian Ho: Either ‘House’ or ‘CSI’.
VH: Who’s your favorite musical artist?
Lulian Ho: I like a lot of Jay Sean songs. I don’t know if I’d call a single artist out to say that they were super fantastical though.
VH: Many of people are into Korean stuff now-a-days…any notable Korean shows or Korean artists?
Lulian Ho: BIG BANG!!!!! and Wondergirls!
VH: I’ve never seen them…what makes them so “great”?
Lulian Ho: You should youtube them. Then you’d understand what makes them great. Haha!
VH: Okay, I will maybe check them out…
VH: Last question. Any advice you’d like to give to a student who wants to be a great instructor one day?
Lulian Ho: TAKE NO PRISONERS! Haha just kidding. You have to want it more than the next person. So work hard!
